The Certification Program ‘Global Trade- Indian and Australian Perspectives’ concluded with a felicitation and Prize distribution ceremony on 3rd March, 2025 at Dr. K. M. Vasudevan pillai Campus, Panvel. This 30-hour program held from 14th to 24th October, 2024 provided the 48 registered participants with a comprehensive understanding of global trade with a focus on Indian and Australian perspectives. By combining expert-led modules with real-world industry experiences, the program prepared students for future careers in global commerce. The collaboration between IWFCI India, IWFCI Global, and Pillai Instituute reinforced the commitment to providing quality education and industry-oriented training to aspiring entrepreneurs and trade professionals.
Upon successful completion of the program, all students were awarded certificates recognizing their participation and achievements. Additionally, a prize distribution ceremony was conducted, where the coordinators and resource persons were felicitated with certificates as a token of appreciation for their valuable contributions to the program. Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Daphne Pillai, President of IWFCI India National Chapter, noted the integral role of foreign trade in modern business and the importance of digital technology in international commerce. She emphasized the program’s objective of equipping students with the skills and knowledge necessary to thrive in the global business environment.
The certification program was structured into five key modules:
- Scope and Trends of International Trade – Understanding global trade patterns and market dynamics.
- Export Marketing – Strategies and techniques for expanding businesses globally.
- Export Finance, Banking, and Exchange Management – Financial aspects of international trade.
- Foreign Trade Policy and Procedures – Regulatory frameworks governing exports and imports.
- Logistics and Shipping in Exports – Operational aspects of global trade logistics.
Experiential Learning In addition to theoretical sessions, the program incorporated a practical learning component with a visit to Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority (JNPT).
The program was led by Dr. R. Chandran, Director of PiMSR, an expert in International Trade, Dr. Celina Joy, Faculty at PiMSR and Director of IWFCI India, who served as the program coordinator and Prof. Kiran Deshmukh, Faculty at PCACS.
